Sawlus gazed at her surroundings like a child witnessing fire for the first time. Her senses seemed heightened; an experience she had come to learn was the norm as one became more and more connected with the Kôles. A healthy dose of Cimä before her arrival no doubt enhanced the flow of the Life-Force within her. Sawlus closed her eyes and slowly inhaled, savoring the atmosphere. The arcane aroma of perhaps a thousand diverse incenses filled the air, and she allowed her mind to drift...

She turned slowly, dreamily, to her left, permitting her eyelids to slowly open. There stood her precious Þreħa, Brother Siro, gazing wide-eyed at the dais. All the stage lights slowly faded to nothingness, save a slight purplish illumination emanating from the fine mist which slowly spread across the rostrum.

A low-level hum began, which Sawlus would later swear originated inside of her. It began subtly at first, then slowly and steadily grew in power. She was not sure if she could even hear the sound, but she could certainly feel it. Her insides began to dance in a clearly discernable, rhythmic pattern.

A light began to radiate from the stage, this time in a magnificent crimson color, encompassing the billowing mist that now filled half the stadium. Brief flashes of white light attempted vainly to pierce the thick cloud cover, and Sawlus was able to discern momentary glimpses of a half-dozen human forms standing motionless in front of her.

Then the music began.

Now in its fourth month in the marketplace, Dominion is being described as a "challenge to the conventional evangelical Christian end-times scenario" which has become popular in recent years, as well as a sort of "literary antidote" to the increasingly popular books and films which promote disinformation and misunderstanding into the nature and history of the Catholic Christian Church. The author has expressed his hope that the series serve as entertainment that is edifying for the faithful, encouraging for the lapsed, and thought-provoking for the skeptic.

The Dominion Project is the first effort of newcomer to the apocalyptic fiction genre, Compasse. The seven book series weaves vivid supernatural imagery within contemporary geopolitical scenarios, all viewed through the eyes and experiences of well-developed characters of diverging beliefs and backgrounds. It is thought-provoking - even incendiary - in its willingness to delve into controversial subjects and disturbing realties. Though the author is clear that this is a work of fiction, his read of "the signs of the times" proposes a not-too-distant future world that seems more possible than we would dare to believe. Yet in the midst of great suffering and tribulation, the series is ultimately a story of hope, even when it seems the darkness is closing in from all sides.

The first four books in the series, as well as the Intermission reference series, can be purchased at www.thedominionproject.org .
