HOUSTON – Tech Orchard, based in Overland Park, KS, refurbishes, resells and recycles used iPads and iPhones, offering consumers money in exchange for their old devices, as well as a safe, risk-free way to dispose of them. The company recently enrolled with the Green Business Bureau (GBB) to become green business certified.
“Our focus is to provide an easy way for people to responsibly sell mobile devices such as iPhones and iPads,” says Phil Poje, Tech Orchard’s CEO. “We joined the GBB because we want to identify with those people who care about responsibly re-using and recycling good electronic devices.”
The very nature of Tech Orchard’s business is rooted in cost savings and sustainability says Poje. The company employs a number of green practices in its own operations, including recycling paper, plastic and other materials; and employing energy conservation measures.
Poje says his team came from an industry of refurbishing computers and data storage devices, so Tech Orchard was a natural transition.
“Tech Orchard works with individuals and businesses in re-using the unwanted mobile devices such as iPhones and iPads,” says Poje. “Businesses are using these devices in greater numbers and we want to be a resource and partner for them in the management and re-use of the devices.”
“As members of the GBB, we’re looking forward to partnering with individuals and companies to re-use good mobile devices, conserve valuable resources and save money,” says Poje. “It is a fun and responsible way to live.”
The GBB offers a leading, third-party certification to businesses who want to improve their bottom line through the increased business and cost savings brought about by sustainable practices.
