FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Atlanta, Georgia, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) December 9, 2011 -- In response to the senseless and violent end to the life of 7 year old Jorelys Rivera of Canton, Georgia, several local Atlanta entertainment companies have joined forces to hold a toy drive and Memorial Fund Benefit Concert. The catalyst for this event was a local area teen, Jacques Johnson. When Jacques noted how this tragedy affected so many people around him, he reached out saying, “The children are afraid, we need to help them to heal from this terrible incident.”

In partnership with the Game Tite Records, City of Canton, Flyer Promo Now Magazine, Stars of Tomorrow Youth Foundation, K-Rock Ent., J Square Ent., Weirdo Gang Ent. and the Stop the Violence Start the Music movement announced plans today to hold a live music concert and toy drive benefiting the family of Jorelys Rivera.

The Jorelys Rivera Memorial Fund Benefit Concert will be held on Sunday December 18, 2011 at Canton’s Heritage Park, 250 Riverstone Pkwy Canton, GA 30114. The live show will begin at 4:00 p.m. 100% of the proceeds will go to benefit the Riviera family. Collected toys will be distributed amongst needy families within the local Canton community.

“What happened to Jorelys is a sad reminder of the presence of predators that endanger our children,” said Katrina Moore mother and founder of K-Rock Entertainment Group. “Great events like this benefit concert, will hopefully kick start a collective healing in our community and spur on change to be more protective of our neighborhoods, something that we as a community really need.” As Sabrina Flemister, CEO of Weirdo Gang Entertainment noted: “Something as simple as being more observant of our surroundings and actually getting to know our neighbors could make a huge difference. Let those monsters know, the entire community is watching.”

“Many of us grieve with the Rivera Family. We too have children Jorelys age. I felt it was my responsibility to take some action,” said Doc Holiday, CEO of Flyer Promo Now Magazine. Jacques Johnson, who is a performing artist himself, felt that music could lift everyone’s spirits. He, along with our other friends in the Atlanta music scene wanted to turn this negative incident into something positive for the entire community.”

In partnership with the City of Canton, the Jorelys Rivera Memorial Fund Benefit Concert and Toy Drive will remember Jorelys with a day of music, healing and donations that will draw attention to the thousands of children still missing in our country. It is the hope of the concert’s organizers that the eyes of the public are opened to the remaining prevalence of child abduction, and just how few resources our cities have to help treat this social epidemic.

On Sunday, Dec 18 members of the Atlanta music industry such as Collipark Music, Charlie Boy Gang, Jacques Johnson, Yungsta Da Wiz and others will take to the stage, joining hundreds others from around the Country to join in a single voice to plead for justice for Jorelys and for healing of our families and especially our children, who should be free to live a life without fear.
