Telecommunications site www.TopSavings.Net Changes Look
A long standing online telecom web site dedicated to business and residential telecommunications has once again changed it's appearance. Find out why in this interview.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) January 13, 2010 --
In a close interview with the ringmaster Aaron Siegel (CEO TopSavings.Net) I decided to ask the questions that needed to be asked and maybe some that didn't. At his office suite in Scotts Valley, CA we had our conversation over coffee and tea and some Mc Donald's breakfast muffins, yes, not the healthiest breakfast. With the office still warming up with a cool storm front on it's way I held the interview yesterday morning.

http://topsavings.net Question: So as we give ourselves a heart attack with our breakfast here, which by the way, thanks for buying, I have a first question. What made you decide to change your site's appearance once again in less than a year's span?
Answer: Web design has never been one of my strongest point for one. I run the site solely on my own, the entire business in case you didn't know. As you can imagine I wear many hats and in that busy hustle and bustle of closing phone sales, marketing and all the other important tasks of running a business some things naturally got overlooked. In this case the site menu which I added by hand for hundreds of pages I had overlooked. By the time I slowed down enough to really reflect on the undesirable changes I had made to the site (sighs) it was too late. Ultimately I just stepped away and gave it more thought and decided instead of changing the menu again with the risk of (bleeping) up I'd change the platform I ran my site from first.
Question: Wow, so you must've been pretty upset. What platform did you change your site from?
Answer: Yeah, I was completely bummed. I decided on using PHP instead of HTML. I find I can change appearances and menus instantly, it's a real time saver. That was another motivating factor, saving time.
Question: So you sell residential telecommunications and broker some higher end enterprise services. Have you changed any services or products or is this just a design/platform issue?
Answer: Well actually, now that you mention it, I began to feel I had many offers from too many vendors on lots of my pages. I felt that perhaps I may be confusing some of the visitors, actually I know I was. I got many confused phone calls asking which product was even being offered, I toned it down. I haven't gotten rid of services, but have quit promoting some phone service vendors and kept the higher value oriented ones. I have recently added SEO services through a group of great guys, but that's all that may have changed. Who knows, I may add some new phone service vendors soon though if I can devise a way to fit them in. Ultimately I don't want to spread myself too thin right now. I need to focus on the customers and visitors.
Question: So is the site finally done and complete?
Answer: No, actually I have a ways to go, but I have the sufficient amount of services and pages to make the site work for now as I continue to build, so the switch is official.
Question: Great. I noticed you have some pictures of kids on your desk, I assume they're yours?
Answer: Yes, they're all mine all four of them. They keep me just as busy as the business. (laughs)
Question: Yeah I have 2 kids of my own I can't imagine four. So, are there any new plans for the site other than adding some new pages?
Answer: Yes, actually. I plan to eventually add a telecommunications directory to the site and am considering creating a wiki as well. I even considered a news area for the telecom industry but at the time being I will need to stay focused on improving what I have, I have this desire to perfect it then branch off from that perfection. When, I don't know. Remember I have 4 kids too.
Question: Wise, good idea. Why don't you just hire a web design firm? That would save you time, right?
Answer: I started this over 8 years ago now and I started from scratch and regardless of my weak designing skills, I love the pride and thrill of competing 100% from my own efforts. Maybe I'm getting old. (laughs) It's fun and stressful, but a lot of pride comes from doing it all myself. All in all though, ultimately TopSavings.Net is my other child and I don't trust babysitters.
