That Really Hurt Time for Work Comp Insurance

October 15, 2011 Insurance news in Tampa,Florida, United States of America

The unthinkable has happened: you or one of your crew has been involved in a work-related accident or injury.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Tampa, Florida, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) October 15, 2011 -- It’s time to reach out to Workers Comp Ins. How should you get started? First, take a deep sigh of relief and remember you’re covered.

This process all starts with the hurt employee filling out an accident report. Recording the incident is policy in many businesses as well as being good common sense. Then, if the case calls for it, the wheels may need to be put in motion for a Work Comp Insurance claim. The sooner this is begun, the better off that everyone is.

For any employee who wishes to start a Workers Comp Ins claim, but feels uncomfortable to do so, this is a reminder that it remains illegal to fire you because of filing a claim. Federal and (most) state laws will not allow a worker’s job to be put into jeopardy if he chooses to file a Work Comp Insurance claim. When the issue is embarrassment because of the accident or the resultant Workers Comp Ins claim, it’s in everyone’s best interests that the boss encourage the employee to push past this natural reaction in order to ensure that he is properly treated and cared for and so that the employer is sure that he too has done all that he can to improve the situation.

Okay, with the Work Comp Insurance legal wrangling over with, it’s time to get some medical attention. Emergency or primary medical assessment, care and treatment is central to Workers Comp Ins, so go off to a hospital or clinic or MPN and get that injury treated.

Work Comp Insurance will see to it that the necessary benefits will be covered for the duration of the claim. The claim may be left open for a year after the last related treatment was received. Of course, any Workers Comp Ins coverage will depend on many factors including (but not limited to) the details of the policy and the extent of the injury or illness, so check with your Broker for specifics.

The fundamental reason that Work Comp Insurance started in the first place was to ensure that neither the injured employee nor his employer would need to be out of pocket for expenses resulting from a work-related accident or injury. Filing a Workers Comp Ins claim is never about taking advantage. It’s about protection and compensation.
