Based on the “Bio-refininig Magazine” article written by Luke Deiver and comments made by Ms. Pamela Serino, director for the quality and technical support office at the Defense Logistics Agency (Energy), we have some major tsunami issues headed towards the American Taxpayers, and it’s the cost of just being an American!

First, let’s start with what Bush and Cheyney did to not only the Americans, but America—they sold a bill of goods to everyone that would believe that bio-fuel development using corn (and some other substances-but primarily 98% corn) would help American become energy independent. Anybody that has done any scientific research and reading understands that pure hogwash. It takes ten time as much energy (using oil) to produce 1 gallon of bio-fuel than what is produced. So how can that get America to energy independence? Corn that is used in bio-fuel production is taken away from corn used to feed Americans (for beef and other staple foods, sugars, etc) helping just these last two years to drive food prices up by 35% and who knows how much next year. There is very little corn left now to go into food production for people!
So let’s backtrack a moment—Bush and Cheyney told Americans bio-fuel was good for us, just like they told us the fake wars were good for us and now America is in debt to the tune of 15 billion dollars. So we believed them and our lobbyist-licking greedy Congress and Senate and now we are all paying much higher food prices.

It gets better! With the Department of Defense wanting to “Go green” like so many that want to jump on the political correct bandwagon-because they purchase more fuels that anyone else in the world, the taxpayers are now caught in the middle with the DOD’s Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), the bulk buyer of the nation’s fuels, robbing Americans’ pocket books, by their willing promotion of bio-fuel production. Yes, it all sounds very contemptible, and it is.

IS IT not bad enough, that our former president and his VP Dick Cheyney embroiled America in an improper war that has cost America money it doesn’t have to pay ($15 trillion dollars of heavy debt), but also perpetrated false hopes for Americans that we as a whole could dig itself out of a future fuel short that it will have by producing bio-fuel from corn? And it doesn’t matter what fuel mass you use (corn, saw-grass, etc) it is not cost effective, nor efficient to produce any fuel from biomass as the input costs are a staggering 10 times that to produce just one gallon! Are we as Americans insane? Do we not understand there are no easy fixes to this mess, and that DLA and DOD are working hard to steal every penny from the American taxpayers and take food from the mouths of starving children here and abroad by this falsehood?

It is wholly inappropriate for DOD and DLA to endorse production of bio-fuels for ships, airplanes, tanks etc…when all this does is drive the cost of food products through the roof! Enough already!

Get on the phone, write an email, call your local Congressman or woman, or Senator and tell them to stop all this non-sense, waste of tax-payer hard earned money, and put tax incentives where they truly need to be in wind, solar, and nuclear power. That is where you’ll get the biggest bang for the American tax dollar! Not in BIO-FUEL. The wind, sun, and water are FREE. All we need to do as a nation is use the God given brains we were provided with to put capital investment into those only renewable energy projects that will have a lasting payback.

If not, you only have just maybe at the most 20 more years of driving your cars and flying on jet airplanes before there is NO MORE FUEL LEFT!

But hey, who am I but a person that studied International Finance, banking, and understands supply and demand. Oil is finite, and so is farm land my friends. Put all your eggs in one basket as our Congress has made our American farms do with production of corn for gas (does that even make sense?) and you’ll end up without any means of supporting ourselves for the future. A third world nation is where we are headed, and DLA is not helping us in this regard. WRITE YOUR CONGRESSMAN AND SENATOR TODAY! Tell them to stop the insanity of supporting Bio-fuels for the military and anyone else.

"Why a Government-Based Business Strategy is Tricky Experts say it's counterproductive, but bio-refining firms continue on with government" By Luke Geiver

The government is a tricky organization to work with. At least that's what Pamela Serino, director for the quality and technical support office at the Defense Logistics Agency (Energy) told a ballroom full of prospective advanced bio-fuel producers at a conference this fall. Serino was there to explain how her team at the DLA would go about awarding the
advanced bio-fuel contracts created when the U.S. DOE, the USDA and the U.S. Navy announced they would award up to $510 million to a number of future bio-refinieries that could supply bio-based jet or marine fuel.

Serino makes it very clear that the process won't be easy. The DLA acts as the main contractor for many government entities such as the U.S. Navy, and the selection process was "a little touchy" she says, because "if [advanced bio-fuel producers] can't meet the contract requirements, it is going to come back to us and the customer won't be happy." With
these newer fuels, she adds, "there are some that just don't exist yet, so we are actually awarding contracts on a prayer kind of thing."

Of course, Serino isn't entirely correct-there are some fuel providers such as Solazyme or Dynamic Fuels that have already provided renewable jet fuel for use in several U.S. commercial flights. But her sentiments on government partnerships do highlight one of the most complex directions a nascent bio-refining firm may take on its path to commercial development and prosperity. As Serino says, working with government is "tricky," and without going too far into the current political
atmosphere and economic climate this past year, expecting Congress to agree on any sort of legislation that would immediately bolster the advanced bio-fuels industry would be like expecting the major oil companies to voluntarily give up their tax subsidies.
