The web is full of places to read about gardening, but where to go to get the best advice and ideas?
Amateur Gardening ( http://www.amateurgardening.com/ )
This blog gives really great, practical gardening tools and tips, with non-invasive advertising. Unfortunately, it is not updated too often, but you can look at older editions and everything is written in an engaging way.
Gardener’s World ( http://www.gardenersworld.com/ )
As this is a BBC website, there are fewer adverts with great graphics. There are both seasonal and general tips, and because it’s part of the BBC, there are lots of extra, up to date areas such as the weather forecast for your local area.
Of course, there are also the many thousands of blogs dedicated to gardening and growing plants. My personal favourites are:
My Tiny Plot ( http://www.mytinyplot.co.uk/ )
This blogger is evidently dedicated to her work, regularly updating this thrilling blog dedicated to growing fruit and veg. There are interesting articles as well as really detailed with plans for the plots every year, so you know exactly what was going on.
Snappy’s Garden Blogs ( http://snappycrocsgarden.blogspot.com/ )
This blog writes about every part of the garden, flowers, plots, trees, and is regularly updated. An amateur who really knows his stuff!
The new kid on the block:
LinkMyHome.com ( www.linkmyhome.com )
LinkMyHome.com is a website aimed at people who love their home and garden, allowing people to share their experiences and be inspired by others who have worked on their homes, combining their ideas to the ones they find on the site. There’s even a news section of the website, providing an “experts’ corner” of bloggers who share their hints and tips: whether it be instructions on how pot your lavender, or tips on what to feed your roses, LinkMyHome.com has it all. It’s free and very easy to use!
