FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Houston, Texas, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) January 15, 2012 -- In catalog printing, you have several binding options available to you that you can choose from. These options can have an effect on the overall appearance of your catalogs. Depending on your purpose, one type of binding is the ideal choice better than others.

If are not yet familiar with the different types of catalog binding, here is an overview which should help you decide on the best one to use to complete the catalog printing process:

a. Perfect binding. High quality color catalogs are usually held together by perfect binding. This type of binding involves sticking the pages of the catalogs to a straight edge. Known to be the strongest binding type, perfect binding is also applied to books and other larger printed materials. With perfect binding, your catalog will look like a full length book as there would be no visible staples, stitches or rings.

b. Saddle-stitching. In spite of its name, this type of binding actually makes use of staples in holding together the pages of the catalog. There are two approaches to this kind of binding. One is called "saddle stitched" and the other is "side-stitched." With saddle stitch, the staples are within the fold of the catalog pages, around the center of the material. On the other hand, the side-stitched places the staples on the reverse side, which means that the staples are on the outside of the catalog. Saddle-stitched binding is commonly considered less dependable although it is one of the cheapest binding processes a catalog printing service provider may offer you.

c. Plastic comb binding. This type of binding involves punching holes in the side of pages with the use of specially-made equipment for the process. Then, a "plastic comb" is inserted into the punched holes to bind the pages together. Although it is one of the simplest binding methods, it is, however, less reliable than other way of binding a catalog. This is only advisable if you are doing the binding process on your own.

d. Three-ring binding. Just like with plastic comb binding, holes are punched in the pages. But instead of plastic combs, metal rings are inserted to the holes. In using three-ring binding, the material is usually attached into a binder, which serves as the catalog cover. The pages held together by this type of binding, are easily detachable – you may insert or remove any of the pages because the metal rings can be clasped open and shut when necessary.

Printing catalogs is one of the most reliable strategies that you can take advantage to boost your sales. Just make sure that you design your catalogs well in order to engage your target audience’s interest. Also, be certain that they can browse your catalogs conveniently without having to worry about loose pages. Such setback can reflect badly on your professional image. So to ensure that the pages are held tightly, choose the perfect binding option for your catalog. In making your choice, consider the number of pages as well as the taste of your target audience.
