Chapter 7: Golden Fields/ Annexed 1: The Black Rose/ Annexed 2: Stranger in a Strange Land/ Annexed 3: The song: “It’s my Coffin you’re Carrying”/ Annexed 4: The Realization of my Ignorance /Annexed 5: Shut Up, Voice!
THE BLACK ROSE/ The instant of my crucial test of faith is upon me, and finally the gate is broadly ajar— but as if for a dreadfully singular service!
That’s the doorkeeper standing in a black suit and a long black coat, in the closing shades of this windy night. Behind the gate, the wheat fields I always saw in my dreams. He is not holding me back anymore! But stretching his hand— inviting me to take a black violet rose! Attractive, as the tango sadness, I approach. His eyes on my meaning— a chill that froze my vanity in time! Yet, it’s a white, summery dress, I’m wearing! My hands are empty, my face is pure— my sight is glaring, my heart is daring. Light to the light I go— with my hopes and genuine intentions. If expatriated from encumbrance— I accept the detention. Over with that fight! Let it be morning— enough with the night. Signs are talking— on track at last! I’m ready for the trip—did cast the past. Fate is favoring me, angels joined me— and it wasn’t fast.
Or isn’t it over yet?! Why is He standing still, and glaring at me, while I am before him holding this black rose, so dependently? After all my insane daring! After all I put on the line! With sharks, I dove in the deepest waters! So, why am I received by the fiery porter?! Tell me Doorkeeper! Didn’t I challenge my every self? Didn’t I take my every dare? Didn’t I face my every daemon? Didn’t I always connect with and listen to my heart? And why while, as a tree I grew, adding a ring upon ring, you were charging me a fine after fine!
I teleported to the divine! Took a train to reach what’s mine. I walked, I drove—what’s left? A ship! Or shall I take your private jet? I threw my last chip with my last smile. Leave me now, not another mission to hell! I will skip the hero’s call — here’s another number to dial.
But, it seems, I must stand the final trial. The doorkeeper is addressing me again, through soulful resonations! “Would you make the same choices knowing what you know now? Are you ready to liberate your regressive forces and the material world? Under the irresistible temptation would you still yield?!”
That startling, unspoken sound mesmerises me no more! Yet overwhelms my consciousness of whoever I once knew as I. I keep pushing my feet to a place they don’t necessarily care, or dare to face, but I must resist the need to collapse.
If this is my hour, and I can’t transpierce the gates of heaven, then I must take myself to a place where I can tolerate to wait.
Annexed 2: A STRANGER IN A STRANGE LAND.
As a dead stick, I stand, in the midst of my Golden Fields—what can I give? No panic, my soul! In your spring, you’ll be healed— yes, we still have a million triumphs to live. But me in confusion, playing brave, not decoding if my imminent end is a welcoming friend, or abrasive foe— but whatever it may be, every willing step carries my bare spirit towards its exit, which will lead me out of this tormented life.
Heavenly Mother! I feel shorthanded, and in trouble. And why do I choose the constant struggle? Testing my limits to their very core— with a smile upon my face, witnessing leisurely the humanly disgrace! Penniless, homeless, friendless, and my head in space! Yet knowing, your miracles—I’ll embrace.
Divine Father, I know that you don’t take pride in my fall! And I know you heard my call. Yes, there’s no shield from this rest— as the shadow of death hunts its own angel, if he knows its best. I surrender to my fate, but this is not the way I envisaged supremacy of premises! A coffin! And no one to carry it! A stranger in a strange land! What does it all mean? Holding a black rose! Not like this! Not just yet! Damn it! Don’t let me die now! I’m way away from my perfection.
At least, I die trying— to live— live better. As I once lived, in a half-remembered life— in another space and time! Those flashes of memories, laughter, and beings who loved me, and I loved back. Or was it all a contender-dream?
I’ve been told that the darkest hours are just before the dawn— it is charcoal black in here—where is that light?!
The road is open before me now, the doorkeeper vanishes. My heart is pounding, fearing it’s the dead end. In my last rush, thinking: Am I just lost in a narrow random street? Or am I just rejecting the ending scene? Did I waste my life in vain?! In my fraught rush to depart, have I taken the wrong train?!
So, let go now, and die once more! At least, I hope that my burnt ashes¬ will purge and prepare my new grounds. As phoenix became my friend, we’ve met many times. He’ll carry my dust, again, and tempest in meandering tornado into the skies, where angels prepared my evolution ceremony with love, where there’s no disdain. I’ll rest if I must; yes, I’ll lie in this coffin; just, please! Write for my loved ones my new address— write upon it my name.
