The Columbia Town Center Rotary Club is gearing up for its next major fundraiser. The annual Sweethearts Ball will be held at the Sheraton Columbia Hotel on February 9, 2013 from 7:00 until 11:00PM. This event, always held on the Saturday evening immediately preceding Valentine's Day, offers the community an elegant evening of dining and dancing to celebrate this romantic holiday.

The Sweethearts Ball features the classic sounds of the 18-piece Crabtowne Big Band, a silent auction, as well as dancing and culinary delights throughout the evening. The cost per ticket is $100. Special rates on hotel accommodations are available from the Sheraton for those wanting a getaway weekend.

This year's silent auction will feature a œSigned, Framed Authentic Cal Ripken Orioles Jersey. Don't miss out on this opportunity to bid on this special collector's item, as well as many local services, entertainment and sports tickets, vacation packages and collectibles.

Proceeds from this event will be used to support the club's portfolio of local charities, education endowments and community service projects (see list below). This year the Columbia Town Center Rotary Club is focusing on community service projects, programs and organizations that support education, mentoring, and services to citizens in crisis. œWe seek to help those in need, especially young people who have fallen on hard times or gotten into trouble, to get their lives back on track and become productive citizens of Howard and neighboring counties.
