The Homeless Newspaper .Info www.homelessnewspaper.info encourages the homeless to make themselves visible, and to tell the American people about government policies that caused them to be homeless, especially before elections.
It’s also important that the American people take a realistic look at what can happen to them unless the combined corruption of the banking system / political establishment / legal system be broken up. We must end the corruption, and homelessness, forever.
The homeless are also encouraged to march with the Wall St. protesters, although they could all carry different signs. The protesters can either support the homeless, or can urge the American people to focus on the money, which is the only way to deal with the corrupt federal banking system. That can most effectively be done by closing bank accounts and transferring that money to credit unions.
In addition, they should also contact state legislators and demand the establishment of state banks, to help their own economies. Those banks would profit from loans they make to the residents of their states, and can invest money deposited with them.
For example, “The Bank of North Dakota is the only state-owned bank in America—what Republicans might call an idiosyncratic bastion of socialism. It also earned a record profit last year even as its private-sector corollaries lost billions…” from the article, How the Nation’s Only State-Owned Bank Became the Envy of Wall Street, published online at http://motherjones.com/mojo/2009/03/how-nation%E2%80%99s-only-state-owned-bank-became-envy-wall-street. That bank’s website is: Bank of North Dakota http://banknd.nd.gov/.
Only the American people can end the homeless crisis which was created by Ronald Reagan’s trickle-down economics three decades ago. Enough people have died to prove that those responsible for the greed are not going to hold themselves accountable to their victims.
Homelessness kills, slowly and emotionally painfully. Too many have turned to drugs and alcohol because they can’t deal with the realization that they’ve been rejected by their own country. Eventually they die from the elements. We must stop the insanity of simply trying to feed them while continuing to sentence them to a slow and terribly painful death.
The homeless have deliberately been made invisible by those who have destroyed their lives, with the cooperation of the biased media, but with our help they can fight back and do serious damage to America’s corrupt banking system.
