Delray Beach, Florida, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) September 15, 2011 -- DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA – What started as a handshake between legendary football Coach Howard Schnelenberger and Jim O’Neill, owner of Delray Acura and Delray Hyundai, has nested an Owl’s corporate sponsorship at FAU Stadium. The nine-year contract gives the family owned & operated dealerships naming rights to the Stadium’s Premier Club – the Delray Acura Club – and Priority Club – the Delray Hyundai Club.

“Howard walked into my dealership in 1997 and we became fast friends,” said Jim O’Neill. “He had a vision of recruiting a successful team and building a multi-purpose stadium in Boca Raton. He is a man of his word and I am proud to be part of this historic season.”

Similar to the Coach’s successful football career and dedication to a quality football program, the Acura and Hyundai brands have long been known for their high-quality, well built award winning vehicles and commitment to customer service. Among the dealerships top customers, Coach, wife Beverly and family have gone on to purchase numerous vehicles from both dealerships.

A native of New Jersey, Jim O’Neill has been in the automotive industry since 1983 and has owned Delray Acura since 1991. A former Marine, Jim is well known for his childhood modeling days where he appeared in numerous print and television national ad campaigns with his most popular “claim to fame” being the cover baby on the best-selling Dr. Spock’s Baby & Child Care. Kevin O'Neill, is a retired Lieutenant Colonel and former executive of Goldman Sachs. Kevin, a pilot in the Marine Corps who fought in Desert Storm served proudly for 21 years. Together, they manage the two dealerships and its team of 80 employees.

Over the years, Jim has built a successful business with record sales this year expected to reach more than $110 million. “We are extremely proud and humbled to be among the first to support what is destined to be a South Florida landmark in a community that has been very loyal to us,” said Jim O’Neill. “This Stadium will be a boost to our economy as one of the largest venues in the area – attracting fans, concert-goers, new students and employees.”

Jim O’Neill has three daughters – Kelly, a junior at FAU; Mandy a senior at FSU and Katie, a photographer based in Atlanta. All are proud of their father stepping up as the corporate sponsor of what will be a South Florida landmark.
