The Latest VLC Media Player -1.5.5 Review

VLC Media Player is a long-time free and open-source cross-platform media player that plays almost any imaginable format. It's not the only option for free video playback, but it's one of the best, and of course my favorite media player – free, simple but powerful. Sometimes we may complain it takes too much of our CPU, however, It supports almost all the Audio & Video formats (MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H.264, DivX, MPEG-1, MP3, DVD, Ogg, AAC... and the list goes on), and Its flexible, lightweight and best of all, VLC Media Player is 100% Free. Then I can’t help to like it. Here I’d like share you the experience I know about the VLC video player.

VLC Media Player is a free Universal Multimedia player that is released under the GNU General Public License, meaning its 100% free to download and use.

It plays everything

VLC plays absolutely anything. It supports an enormous number of multimedia formats, including DVDs, (S) VCDs, Audio CDs, DivX, XviD, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H.264, web streams, TV cards and much more. With VLC, there is no need to continually update many different codec packs. VLC comes with nearly every codec built in!
VLC features a complete streaming server, with extended features like video on demand, on-the-fly transcoding, granular speed controls, frame-by-frame advancement and more. It can also be used as a server for unicast or multicast streams in IPv4 or IPv6 on a high-bandwidth network.

Magic & Powerful features

1. It can increase volutme till 400 %! Just drag the volume control button. Sometimes some videos have very low sound; this is very useful tip for that.

2. You can play broken files too. VLC Media Player now features fully supports playback for broken as well as zipped files (this is for windows, as zipped files can auto decompress) and so much more. If there are six part of rar file, download only first, and extract it. (I use 7-zip, if is freeware), and u can play that only one part by VLC player. (You don't need all parts of rar.) So you can test movie, or can start watching, while other part is getting downloaded. Even if that first part is moviename.avi.001 u don't have to rename it, just drag it on vlc.
3. One very nice feature, I like most, sometimes in video files, sound doesn't match. There is lip-sync problem, sound comes a little late, or little early. This can destroy a very nice movie. To correct this, go to setting-preference-audio. Check 'advanced options' then put negative or positive numbers (500 for 500ms = half second etc) in audio resynchronization compensation according to your requirement.
