The Marching Lions Orchestrate Servitude, Private Schools Palm Beach Setting Good Example

November 13, 2009

The Marching Lions continue a tradition of servitude, picking up trash after competing against other schools.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) November 13, 2009 -- The King’s Academy Marching Lions are well into their 2009-2010 season, and among their outstanding accomplishments can be found a sincere heart for reaching out to their competing schools.

The Marching Lions started a tradition a number of years ago in which they pick up the trash in their part of the stands after each competition. Sometimes, when time permits, they’ll pick up trash in the areas surrounding where they sit. This was the case at Park Vista’s Striking Cobra Marching Invitatinal this year. Josh Boor, Head Drum Major of the Marching Striking Cobras, wrote a letter of gratitude to the members of the Marching Lions. He made an intentional effort to give this letter to Eric Dunn, Marching Lions Band Director, at the John I. Leonard competition a full week later.

“He had a very sober look on his face as he expressed his thanks and serious admiration for the kids in the band. We are blessed to have these kids at TKA. They are a living testimony to God and to the school,” said Dunn.

In the letter from Josh Boor, he thanks the Marching Lions and praises them for their victory. “We would like to especially thank you for being one of our most outstanding visitors. It is clear that you work hard and play hard. We deeply appreciate that you helped us clean our stadium after the competition. Also, congratulations on receiving 1st in class 1A. you have a very fine program and we respect your hard work and helpfulness,” said Boor.

The King’s Academy is a nationally recognized private Christian school serving approximately 1,200 students from preschool through twelfth grade and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the Association of Christian Schools International, and the Florida Association of Christian Schools. The King’s Academy serves students and their families across Palm Beach County at its main campus at Belvedere Road and Sansbury Way in West Palm Beach and its satellite preschool campuses in Greenacres, Palm Beach Gardens, and Royal Palm Beach.
