FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) January 20, 2010 --
Cleveland, OH, January 20, 2009 – The Northeast Ohio Reentry Coalition, Inc. (NORC) leverages available resources to offer formerly incarcerated individuals an opportunity to reintegrate into the general public, thereby, reducing the burden placed on society. NORC has partnered with several local companies to help bridge the technological gap many formerly incarcerated individuals face in their job search. Statistics show that gainful employment after release dramatically decreases the odds of future incarceration.
Boundless Flight, Inc., a software development firm in Rocky River, is donating training on social media, such as LinkedIn, to assist in the job search process. Boundless Flight also donates a PRADCO behavioral assessment (www.ipradco.com) and connects the HIGH5 report to the person's LinkedIn profile. This offers prospective employers insight to the individual’s work related strengths. Mr. Scruggs supports the use of PRADCO’s HIGH5 reports because, “many in this group do not have a solid work history or reference list to support their job search efforts, the High5 offers an objective perspective, similar to a tested reference.”
NORC has 75 members and partners including various federal, state and local agencies, however, the support of area businesses is essential to the success of this program. The money and time invested in this initiative will pay off as fewer formerly incarcerated individuals return to prison because they have found self-sustaining employment, therefore, reducing the burden of the taxpayer in housing an inmate.
