The useful Wireless IP cameras

June 28, 2011

With technology advancing in leaps and bounds the IP wireless camera is the latest addition to the list of surveillance equipment.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) June 28, 2011 -- Wireless IP cameras are mainly surveillance cameras. Flexibility of movement make it their main advantage. The wireless IP cameras will pick up all that is happening on the premises and transmit it via the internet to anywhere in the world.. All that is necessary is the IP address of the wireless IP cameras and they can be viewed using an internet browser.

Another feature of these IP wireless cameras is that it is so small that it could be hidden almost anywhere. Sometimes parents install these IP wireless cameras in the toy of a child and they record the activities of the nanny that looks after the child. For bird watchers too this is an ideal device because the wireless IP cameras could be fixed unobtrusively in the bushes and the bird could be watched a distance away without disturbing the bird.
Another good feature of the wireless IP cameras is that up to 16 cameras could be connected to the master unit. This allows for more coverage. The normal camera system does not allow for that many.

The wireless IP cameras come with inbuilt night vision cameras. This allows the recording of images even in the dark. So the need for light to take a good picture is eliminated. The images and sounds are picked up as it is and relayed and also the greatest attribute is that it is fitted with a motion detector. Recording starts once motion is detected and this eliminates the need to go through yards of unnecessary tape before motion is detected.
The installation of wireless IP cameras as a surveillance system is much cheaper than the regular installation of CCTV.
With all these advantages there is a downside to the wireless IP camera. With all the signals being transmitted it is easy for a hacker to get hold of the signals and jam it and the right signals may not get sent to the monitor.

Even the best of wireless IP cameras will have a problem with wireless system. The absence of wires means that the cameras operate on sets of signals that can be easily intercepted and the details of the premises where it is installed can be easily seen.
When contemplating the installation of wireless IP cameras it is good to assess the pros and cons of the system and then make a decision
