The Woodlands Township Board Candidate Adam Muery focuses on a positive campaign
Despite the bitterness seen in many political campaigns, Adam Muery, candidate for The Woodlands Township Board Place 3, has vowed to maintain a positive message.

Adam Muery responds to a concerned citizen
I would like to start by saying I am not running against anyone or any group.
I am running for a position because I believe I can be of service. I want
The Woodlands to continue to be a place where we are proud to raise our
family.
I know there is a lot of criticism of the "inner circle" of The Woodlands Township.
You made suggestions that there may have been criminal activity. I have no reason
to believe that there has. What I do believe is that everyone is entitled to the benefit
of the doubt and is not guilty of a crime until proven so. That is one of many
inalienable rights identified in our constitution but granted by almighty God. I have
defended our rights and I do not believe that they should be denied to anyone.
I also believe that The Woodlands is the most incredible community I have ever
seen. I am glad my wife and I chose to move our family here. A place such as this
does not happen by accident. It happens because a lot of people made some right
decisions over time.
All that being said, there are some decisions that have been made in the recent
past that I do not agree with. We have to have priorities. We have half as many law enforcement officers as a
community our size should have. We have a small fraction of the detectives that we
should have. We have no dedicated specialized units. We have no accountability
or performance measures in place that I have seen. We aren't getting the full value
of our contract with the county for those deputies because those deputies are a
profit center for the county. This means we are supplementing law enforcement for
other areas while our own area is understaffed. However, we must also understand,
that for the foreseeable future, ours is a cooperative effort with the agencies and
governments that we contract with for services. That means that we must, as a
community, foster a positive working relationship with our neighbors and develop
policies and agreements that serve our mutual needs.
We must also, as a community, realize that solutions to problems relating to crime
can never, and will never, be solved solely by law enforcement professionals. It is
quite simply an impossible task without the cooperation, and the contributions, from
the citizens. I don't mean just financial contributions. We all most work together and
contribute as a community. This will require building a relationship between the
community and our law enforcement professionals. As a community we have started
this process and we must see it through.
We also must realize, and not take for granted, what our law enforcement
professionals go through on a daily basis. They have to deal with the absolute
worst aspects of humanity.
