"I wrote the book in Tanzania, the story takes place in the US, one of my editors lives in the UK and the other in the US, and I self-published it with Createspace in the US, all of this would not have been possible and would have been so time-consuming twenty years ago! It's amazing how technology has progressed in such a short space of time."

Cindy was inspired to write The Case of Billy B after hearing a story told by a writing friend on Hubpages. "I thought, how can so much have happened to one person, it would make a great book, and I developed the basic story as told by my friend, developed different characters, made the plot more elaborate, added some extra intrigue, and voila, The Case of Billy B was born!"

Born with a cleft lip to a mother who abandoned him at six months, it seems that the odds are against Billy from the start. Chris, his father, must make the decision to leave his army career behind and accept the responsibility or have the child go into foster care. Billy and Chris encounter immense challenges as they struggle to find love and acceptance in an unforgiving world. Rejected by all but his loving father, Billy B is thrust into a silent hell alone, branded a freak and a misfit.

It seems there is no help for the struggling single father and his son. It’s just them against the world. Stella, an unstable caregiver, not only endangers Billy, but creates havoc for Chris. Billy becomes the ultimate life spectator in a game of survival. As the fear intensifies that their lives may be in real danger, Chris realizes that he must find a way to save himself and Billy, while still attempting to provide a stable home for his son.
