Hazardous area experts Hawke International has produced new thread adaptors and fittings to allow easy installation of their cable glands to to enclosures with dissimilar threaded connections.
Hazardous area electrical equipment specialist, Hawke International, has produced a comprehensive range of thread adaptors and fittings to allow their cable glands to be easily fitted to enclosures with dissimilar threaded connections. The factory produced and approved adaptors ensure the integrity of installations is not compromised and remains compliant to international safety standards and approvals.
A typical problem is the incompatibility of threads due to size or pitch when mating up equipment to build critical systems. The new range of thread adaptors will convert to two sizes above the original diameter and an unlimited range of sizes below. Many size and thread conversions are possible. These include elbows for 90 degree connections, male-to-female or female-to-male thread conversions, as well as in-line unions, earth lead adaptors, breather drains, stopping plugs and other accessories.
Hawke connectors and cable glands are used in offshore and onshore oil and gas exploration and production facilities, in chemical and process industries and in marine applications. These are typically environments that are classed as Zone 1, 2, 21 and 22. Energy industry infrastructure is produced worldwide, so installers and contractors must frequently adapt equipment to meet local engineering practice or national standards and codes.
Manufactured to the same exacting standards as Hawke International cable glands and connectors, the adaptors use the same high specification materials and ISO 9001 certified production processes. Tested to the latest IEC/EN60079 standard the equipment is also dual certified ATEX and IECEx.
