Three-Legged Amputee Dogs Tie the Knot in President's Day Nuptials

February 07,2013

Tripawds.com wedding at Southern California's Eastvale Dog Park celebrates long-distance love and life on three legs

Three-legged dog fans from across Southern California will head to Eastvale Dog Park in Riverside for a noontime President's Day party to celebrate the union of Hannah Carr, a 3-legged German Shepherd rescue from Riverside, and Wyatt Ray Dawg, a fellow rescue and œTripawd spokes dog for Tripawds.com , the world's largest support community for three-legged animals and their people.

Love at First Bark

œHannah has had a crush on Wyatt since the first day they met on line, says her human, Kim Carr. œWhen Hannah found out he was coming to California to visit, she pushed him for a proposal and of course Wyatt obliged. The rest is history.

The Tripawds.com community creates many lasting friendships throughout the year, but it wasn't until these two stunning beauties met online that a long-distance love affair between dogs heated up.

œWyatt took one look at her photo and howled like a sad, lonely coyote, says his human mom and co-founder of Tripawds, Rene Agredano. œWe knew right away that he was in love and we just had to meet this beautiful girl.

A Place of Support for Animal Amputees

Each year, thousands of cats and dogs must undergo a limb amputation in order to improve their quality of life. Usually the leg must be removed because of cancer or a bad accident. When this happens, the Tripawds.com community is there to provide information, resources and emotional support about life on three legs to help parents decide if amputation is right for their animal.

When Hannah and Wyatt found Tripawds, they were the exception to most amputation stories: both German Shepherds had suffered from some type of unknown trauma or abuse from their previous owners, and both came to Tripawds as young dogs, looking for a good family and permanent home.

On Presidents Day, their love will become legal. Accompanied by friends and family from across Southern California, these two will march down the aisle at Eastvale Dog Park and tie the knot with an ordained minister and a pack of three-legged Tripawds fans including Golden Retriever cancer survivors and a giant Great Pyrenees in a wheelchair.

Tripawds encourages anyone who loves dogs to attend this festive gala. A wedding cake and refreshments will be served and there is no cost to attend.
