TiE Atlanta Gala Celebrates Spirit of Full-Circle Entrepreneurship

(Free-Press-Release.com) August 12, 2009 -- When the Atlanta chapter of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) hosts its annual gala on Sept. 26, the event’s location will have a very special meaning. The gala will take place at the Georgia Aquarium, a top Atlanta attraction made possible through a gift to the city by nationally known entrepreneur and philanthropist Bernie Marcus. “Full-Circle Entrepreneurship – Living Your Dream and Giving it Back” is the evening’s theme and the subject of Marcus’s keynote address.

As co-founder of The Home Depot and one of Atlanta’s most powerful business leaders, Marcus will discuss his personal journey to success and the importance of giving back to others in return. For his substantial work as an entrepreneur and philanthropist, he is being awarded TiE Atlanta’s prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.

TiE is the world’s largest not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting entrepreneurship globally. Now in its eleventh year, TiE Atlanta has made significant contributions to the growth of entrepreneurial opportunities in the metro area, with its members running more than 60 successful public and private companies with a market cap of over $1 billion. In the last two years, TiE Atlanta members have also raised more than $150 million in venture capital funding.
