On its last week, Tissa was running fourth place with 42 referrals, a distance of 20 referrals to the running first place Derek Bohlken. With one week away from the deadline, Chris Losenno, one of the Acme People Search super sponsors called in the APS community to rally behind Tissa on the GVO marketing efforts. Chris knows Tissa doesn’t want the BMW badly and I quote him at a forum saying “I know he doesn’t want it, but if he wins it everyone in GVO or looking to join GVO will go searching for that Tissa Godavitarne character who won the BMW contest and they’ll land on our links.“ This was the main idea that triggered the APS community to step up for the cause. It would be a good advertisment for the APS platform and will surely boost its referrals and each member’s income as well. The forum thread for this topic became very hot that everyone was having a frenzy in looking at the tally boards.

Right in the middle of the recruitment frenzy buzzing at the forum that made the thread longer and longer, a sort of an emissary from the current #1 in the GVO leaderboard emerged at the forum trying to get attention and stating that "what APS was doing was against GVO contest rules". Eventually, she (or he... whoever... lol ) was seen breaking forum rules (by calling names, etc.) and was banned but not after a number of posts and polite answers from the super sponsors, members and Tissa himself.

With the APS community behind him, Tissa’s numbers begun to surge up the leaderboards, seizing 3rd, then 2nd and finally 1st place reaching leader Derek Bohlken at the count of 97-96 on February 27, 2010 with still under 48 hours left in the contest. Tissa went forward to continue to increase his lead against Bohlken who eventually dropped to number 3. Within the last 24 hours of the contest, there were evident surge in the referral counts which showed Bohlken dropping to number 3 and a non-leaderboard figure popping out of nowhere and seizing number 7 position (Filsaime). This prompted the APS community not to relax on the lead but to push more the distance. Bram also made a last minute marketing thrust and immediately showed his name into the leaderboards.

With 20 hours into the contest, GVO pulled out the statistics and simply displayed the rankings to make the contest exciting. The last visible count was 197 for Tissa and the new second placer Munmi.com, LLC with 115 . A hefty 82 point lead. However, this count may not be a real-time count since GVO offers a 14-day trial. This trial may not convert for some referrals and may cause a drop in the final count. So in short, the final count, although the cut-off of registration ends midnight, the final count would be finalized by March 15, 2010 after the 14-day trial have converted (or dropped). Amy, also an APS super sponsor quoted “Now is the time that we cannot stop our efforts! GVO is no longer showing the numbers! Do not let up!!!“. Just goes to show how determined the APS community in winning this contest is.

With merely 3 hours left in the contest, the APS community is still hot on the leadearboard stats for Tissa. A continuous campaign is still being done without relent by the APS community to ensure a sizeable lead for their mentor, Tissa Godavitarne. Surely, Tissa made a good community out of APS making almost every available active member rally behind him in this contest which is eventually for the sake of the APS community.

It all started with a joke thread from Chris . Then one post lead to another and now the APS rocked the GVO contest. The APS community gives the thread firestarter Chris Losenno for eventually spearheading the drive to rally behind Tissa in this historical event for APS and Tissa. But the battle doesn't end yet. The leadership still moves on to ensure the victory after the 14-day trial period. But the APS community, though without the results yet, celebrate the triumph of unity sparked by Chris in the recent March 1 webinar hosted by Tissa who eventually delayed his trip to Vegas during the weekend just to make sure that everyone is pumped up during the last 48 hours of the contest.
