If title loans in Fresno are no longer available then thousands of people will not have an option when an unexpected expense arises. Title loans have acted as a barrier between people with financial trouble, and loss of their home and assets. Being the last line of defense, it is paramount to preserve title loans in California. If this bill passes then many people who previously had an option to stay in their homes will no longer have this option. Assembly Bill 336 must be defeated.

This petition needs 50,000 signatures before the bill comes up for committee vote on April 11, 2011. If enough signatures are gathered families in California will still have an option to help them through this economic recovery period. Eliminating title loans in Fresno will destroy the already fragile structure of the California economy. It is up to the people to sign this petition and defeat this bill. If we fail to defeat this bill we fail to protect our right to economic independence. There is no need for the government to step in and tell the people what they can do with their money, or lack of it. Assembly Bill 336 can be defeated by the people it will negatively impacted immediately alone. It has already helped thousands of people get out of trouble when they needed it, and it needs to be available to do this in the future. California has no place telling people what is best for them, especially when they are in worse debt than any individual ever to come through the doors of a title loan store.
