Figure Skating in Harlem (http://www.figureskatinginharlem.org) is excited to announce the 2013 Skating with the Stars gala honoring broadcaster Andrea Joyce of NBC Sports and fashion designer B Michael of B Michael America. This one-of-a-kind benefit event will be held on Monday, April 8, 2013, from 5:30pm-8:30pm at Trump Rink, Central Park, New York City. This always fantastic evening raises needed funds for Figure Skating in Harlem's (FSH) singular, year-round academic and fitness programs for underserved girls, while offering guests the rare opportunity to skate side-by-side with some of the greatest names in figure skating history.
A gala dinner will be held at The Central Park Boathouse following the skating portion of the night.
Phylicia Rashad, Tamara Tunie (FSH Board Chair Emerita), and Cicely Tyson will serve as this year's Honorary Chairs; Kenneth Chenault, CEO of American Express, and his wife Kathryn, last year's honoree Ellen Lowey, and Terry Lundgren, CEO of Macy's, and his wife Tina are the Event Chairs. This year's Benefit Committee includes Andy Cohen, LuAnn de Lesseps, Rod and Judy Gilbert, Whoopi Goldberg, Carson Kressley, Alicia Quarles, Al Roker, Rhonda Ross, Rosanna Scotto, Michelle Smith, and others.
Past celebrity guests at this perennially star-studded night include Kenneth Cole and Maria Cuomo Cole, Mariska Hargitay, Tommy Hilfiger, Ice-T and Coco, Kevin Jonas, Christopher Meloni, Soledad O'Brien, Kelly Ripa, Diana Ross, Kelly Rowland, Dee Snider, Vera Wang, and Olympic legends Scott Hamilton and Dorothy Hamill, among many others. Miss America 2013, New York's own Mallory Hagan, will be among those joining the festivities this year.
Throughout the evening, guests will have the opportunity to skate with Hamilton and Olympic champions Evan Lysacek (2010), Sarah Hughes (2002), and Tara Lipinski (1998); they will be joined by Sasha Cohen (Olympic Silver medalist), Tanith Belbin (Olympic silver medalist), Paul Wylie (Olympic Silver medalist), Tim Goebel (Olympic Bronze medalist), Johnny Weir, (Olympic Team Member), Jeremy Abbott (2-time US Men's Figure Skating Champion), Alissa Czisny (2-time US Women's Figure Skating Champion), Javier Fernandez (European Figure Skating Champion), Christina Gao (2013 Grand Prix medalist), Kimmie Meissner (World Champion), Adam Rippon (US Junior Champion), Maia and Alex Shibutani (World Bronze medalists), Agnes Zawadzki (2013 US Bronze Medalist), and more.

Now in its 16th year, Figure Skating in Harlem remains the first and only organization in the country that combines the power of education with the grace and discipline of figure skating. Its mission is to transform the lives of underserved New York City girls. Through its unique programming, FSH empowers girls with innovative year-round health, education and fitness programs that promote academic success, physical health, and emotional well-being. The proceeds from this year's gala are vital and will help to expand academic programming. FSH is constantly growing to meet the needs of the girls it serves as it plans for the creation of a home ice rink and academic center of its own to anchor in the community.
