Top of the Pops for Apprenticeships

(Free-Press-Release.com) November 10, 2011 -- The last six months have seen The Source host two Apprenticeship Job Fairs, placing 43 Apprentices in employment in various disciplines, from Business Administration to Retail and we are still searching for businesses looking to recruit their next rising star.

With the doom and gloom of high unemployment in South Yorkshire, The Source is keen to celebrate the achievements of learners and promote the benefits of Apprenticeships to businesses across the region.

With the Apprenticeship scheme, businesses can develop their workforce with an enthusiastic young person, eager to learn. The scheme is open to employers of all sizes, in a range of sectors and is a really simple way to expand a business with fresh new talent.

The Source Apprentices have been recognised as the best in the UK, winning various awards for their contributions to the businesses they work for.

Two of The Source’s Apprentices were recognised last month with winning awards at the Skillsmart Retail Rising Star Awards. Apprentice of the Year April Bell, and HR Professional of the Year Laura Guest celebrated their wins at the prestigious Awards in London.

April, from Monica F Hewitt Florist, and Laura from House of Fraser, triumphed over stiff competition at the award ceremony.

The Skillsmart Retail Rising Stars Awards are designed to recognise the best talent in all areas of retail, from star apprentices to top-notch marketeers and buyers, all demonstrating outstanding talent, aptitude and initiative in their roles – singling them out as the ones to watch for the future.

The Source Skills Academy’s Business Communication Manager Mike Denby said: “We are always on the hunt for Apprenticeship vacancies in the region, with a great talent pool ready and waiting to be placed.
