FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) August 12, 2009 -- We’d all love to be able to renovate our entire house in one installment and feel the fresh vibrancy of something new in our home. However, this is not always feasible due to space, timing or budget. When these things seem to stand in our way we often become discouraged. Scaling back the scope of the project may be more inline with your space, timeframe and budget. Besides, these things give you the almost instant gratification you are looking for, all at a fraction of the price of a major renovation.

[1: PAINT]

Solely painting an accent wall in a room or changing the colour of the entire house is usually the first option people think of when looking for a visual change to a space, while not breaking the bank. Choose a colour that works with the rest of your décor and a sheen that fits your lifestyle. Before committing yourself to your new colour and sheen, get a large paint swatch or a small sample paint jar from your local paint supply store. Apply either the paint to a relatively large area of the wall or the swatch to the wall you are considering painting. Then paint and enjoy watching the immediate visual transformation to your space.

[2: HARDWARE]

Often forgotten, hardware is an accessory that is often added at the end of a project. However, when wanting to immediately and relatively inexpensively change a room this option can take a room from ordinary to extraordinary. To ensure your new handle matches with the former screw holes, take a measurement of the distance between the screw holes and/or your old handle to the hardware store with you. By doing so you will be saved the agony of having the fill old holes in your cabinets. When changing hardware ensure you stick with a similar finish throughout your home. By keeping uniformity, your home will look amply refreshed as opposed to oddly miss matched.

[3: LIGHTING]
Replace lighting fixtures with something fresh and unique. Add a sparkling chandelier to a room to add a touch of elegance and luxury. Or add a modern pendent light fixture to add an updated touch to any room. Lampshades can be replaced by something unique to create a new look. As well, dimmers are a great way to set various moods throughout the space and they save on energy too.

Choosing to incorporate any or all of these suggestions may be all you need to feel the fresh vibrancy of something new in your home. You don’t always need to gut your home and start over to get the look and feel you’ve always wanted. Sometimes all it takes is updating one important feature in the room. Your home should be a representation of you and your family, so take a few minutes and think about what you can do to make that representation even more accurate.
