Township Patterns offers fair-trade and eco-friendly business solutions

(Free-Press-Release.com) August 16, 2010 -- Based in Cape Town since 1998, Township Patterns is a Social Enterprise working together with Township ASB, its Non-Profit organisation partner, and worker-owned co-operatives. Together we design and produce hand made, eco-friendly, authentically African products and bring opportunity, professionalism and economic development to women of previously disadvantaged communities in South Africa.

Township Patterns markets a variety of corporate bags. Our products are hand made on a fair trade basis by cooperatives wholly owned by women from the surrounding townships of Cape Town. The co-operatives are brought to life and supported by Township ASB that provides close to 100 women with free technical, business & personal training.

Township Patterns supplies conference & event organisers, sponsors, PCO’s, NGO’s, private companies and public sector institutions and retailers around the world.

Amongst recent references is KENES International from Switzerland that organised the Congress of Pediatrics 2010 for IPA (International Pediatric Association) that took place in the Sandton Convention Centre from August 4th to 9th 2010. The 3.000 bags supplied were a direct result of the stable partnership between Township Patterns and the renowned conference organiser - Township Patterns supplied close to 10.000 bags to them in 2010.
Another customer of note is SAPICS (The Association for Operations Management of Southern Africa) to whom 1.000 bags were supplied to for their 32nd Annual Conference that took place in Sun City from July 25th to 28th 2010.

The township® bags have a direct positive impact on South African society and the environment and can be custom-made in cotton, hessian or denim in a choice of various colours , also offering “Cotton made in Africa”. Additional features such as handmade (knitted or beaded) accessories, adjustable straps and fastenings are also available.
