Tradition Matters when Selecting Christmas Wine
AN ONLINE UK wine retailer says their customers are sticking to tradition when choosing their vino at Christmas.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) December 4, 2009 --Serenata Wines believes that jolly traditional Burgundy will once again blaze a trail when it comes to yuletide best-sellers.
The online wine expert has also noted the search for genuine classical festive wine customs, Port and Champagne, are still on the top list amongst the customers.
Peter Ahl, Managing Director of Serenata Wines, said: "We normally become aware of variations in wine popularity throughout different time of the year and have in addition noticed a number of influences from recent economical downturns, but this Christmas we see a solid growth and people acquire the traditional wines.
"Britain is a great place to be a wine-lover. Every wine-growing country sends its stuff here which create an embarrassment of choices. The emergence of growing sales via online wine shops is natural wherever you pay money for the finest wines. The convenient transport services used for both for sending gift and obtain individual home transport included increasing facility to celebrate loved ones far away in addition to the time gain. Still Christmas can be a puzzling time.
"Generally, Burgundy is considered the Christmas wine traditional. This is reflected by people who drink more wine with a stronger grip often go for a traditional Burgundy for Christmas dinners.
"Champagne is also a classic, as is Port. Port is slightly going out of fashion, but it is very resilient and a customary part of Christmas."
But Serenata's out of the ordinary recommendation for the ideal Christmas wine is a red wine that is not quite as conventional. Montepuliciano d'Abruzzo from Valle Reale was the champion of Three Glasses in the 2009 Gambero Rosso Awards.
Peter added: "This is a gorgeous wine with a explicit balsamic and mild clove, and cinnamon notes shining throughout the mild plum and damson fruit. Put plainly, it is the ideal wineglass of red for this time of year. It is graceful and with a hint of heat from the Italian south. There is a complexity to the new 2006 that belies its age: amazing stuff and a total bargain."
For revellers in the feel for fizz but who don't like paying out for Champagne, Serenata has suggested the "startlingly good" Prosecco from their man Giovanni Frozza.
Giovanni is a small producer in Valdobbiadene and is widely regarded by connoisseurs in the Veneto county as an exceptional virtuoso in the skill of Prosecco winemaking.
London-based Serenata is an independent online wine delivery retailer, sending wines across the capital and the rest of the UK six days a week.
