We are pleased to announce the launch of travel portal for the travel community. This website currently has about 400 travel articles and we anticipate the number to grow over time.

We are not an official website as we depend on regular travelers for our information. We are pleased to announce the launch of travel portal for the travel community. This new wiki-styled portal is powered by MediaWiki software, the same software which is used by the world's biggest encyclopedia Wikipedia and world's biggest travel wiki - WikiTravel. We have also added several useful features on TravelName (Address: http://www.travelname.com), these include:
1. Rich Text Editor:
People who have tried to edit Wikipedia in the past know that the code is not easy to edit and formatting tags and hard to deal, at least when you are a newbie. To overcome this problem, we have installed FCKEDITOR, this is a very easy editor and auto generates the code behind the scenes. One will feel as if they are typing in a Microsoft word environment.
These days automated softwares try to leave advertisements on the websites and this is an ever growing problem. Captcha are images of letters and numbers, which a user has to type in a box and verify that they are real human beings. We hope this will help in making this travel portal less vulnerable to junk content.
The administration of this travel website is done by Administrators as well as standard users like you. Every user (Registered or Guest) can see changes that have been made to the articles by selecting various version and run the "Diff" tool.
