The reason that I wasn’t surprised that he had made the move to create the Trump Network was his appearance on a late night talk show several years ago. At the time I was involved in a network marketing company and happened to be watching TV. The host of the show asked ‘the Donald’ what he would do if he lost all of his money and had to start over again. He replied that he would find a good network marketing company and get to work. This response was met with a chorus of boos from the audience to which he responded ( as only he can ) ‘ Well that’s why I’m up here and you’re down there ! ‘

How the Trump Network began starts 4 years ago when Donald Trump spoke at Madison Square Garden during the national convention of a company called ACN. For his appearance and speech, he was paid 1 million dollars. A year later he was asked to speak again. Before accepting, he asked them why they wanted him to speak again since he was just going to say the exact same thing as the year before. To this they replied that in 1 year they had growth unlike any they had seen previously from the impact of that speech. He charged them 1.5 million dollars this time.

Donald decided that if he had that much impact in the industry ( which he already thought well of ) he should become more involved. He also figured out that he could probably make a lot of money too if it was done right.

Trump got together with all of his executives and discussed whether they should partner with an existing company, buy it outright, or start their own. The decision was made to find an existing company. At the conclusion of an 18 month search, the right company was found, Ideal Health - a nine year old customized nutrition company headquartered in Boston. Six months later the terms were finalized and on March 5th, 2009 a contract was signed and the Trump Network was born.
