Tweet, Tweet Twitter is the newest social media phenomena to take over our lives
EAST LANSING, Mich -- People from all over the world have flocked to Twitter which was launched August 2006 by Biz Stone, Jack Dorsey and Evan Williams. With over 1 million Tweeps and hits per day.

(Free-Press-Release.com) November 15, 2009 --
This real-time site can be accessed from the web or from multiple mobile devices. Many phone carriers allow their clients to download applications so that Twitter can be reached at all time. This is why it is called real-time messaging. Twitter also allows people to follow whom ever the choose, in order for them to receive information that is relevant to them.
"When people hear about Twitter, their immediate reaction is that it's the simplest and stupidest idea in the world," says co-founder Biz Stone.
"They do not want to know that their brother is eating a hot dog right now," he says. "But then they discover that their friends are on it. And so are the L.A. Fire Department, NASA and JetBlue. Then they get it."
Twitter has become so popular that the site regularly crashes, from the large amount of updates that take place at one time. Although the site crashes, it's never for long periods of time. The IT team at Twitter is continuously working on a way to solve network issue problems.
Tweets inform Twitter-ers of many things that are going on in the world. Many major events have become Trending Topics. #TTs as they are called on Twitter, are events that are widely talked about. Certain words get so many hits that they become popular on the site. If someone were to put a # in front of a word, or a group of words, it then becomes a link, and once clicked on Tweeps are able to see other people that are using that word.
Many companies have turned to Twitter to advertise. If a Tweep has a public profile and mentions a certain brand, within minutes they will either be followed by the brand, or the brand will reply to them about sales, discounts and promotions. This is direct advertising at its finest because a consumer is only contacted by brands that they mention.
