UK’s First Woman Sports Photographer Hy Money Exhibits at Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre London

(Free-Press-Release.com) March 26, 2010 -- London, UK, March, 26, 2010 -- Hy Money, the first woman sports photographer in the UK and former official photographer of Crystal Palace FC is exhibiting a selection of her work at the Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre London, Leinster Gardens, London W1 until 15 May 2010.

The exhibition features unique photos of football legends such as Ronaldo, John Terry, Wayne Bridge, Ashley Cole and Ian Wright from his Crystal Palace days, as well as a reunion of players from the 1966 World Cup Winning Team.

Despite Hy’s football past, her collection is most certainly not limited to photos of footballers. Her display includes a wide range of celebrities from all walks of life including tennis ace Bjorn Borg, the artist Andy Warhol and many others.

Hy Money has had a passion for photography for almost four decades which started when she photographed her first born child with her Box Brownie camera, progressing through to the sophisticated digital equipment she uses to-day. This journey has seen her capture split second action using manual focus 35mm with black and white film, to point and shoot auto focus in glorious digital Technicolor. Along the way, she has come face to face with legends in the world of cinema from Elizabeth Taylor to Dame Judy Dench; sporting heroes from Mohammad Ali to George Best and Christiano Ronaldo; and in the world of politics, she has captured Margaret Thatcher at the height of her power to the present day and hundreds of others in between.

"I was flattered to be invited to show some of my work at the Celebrity Centre, London," said Hy. "And although it is just a small sample of my work, I hope people who come to view it will enjoy it."

Exhibition Director, Mike Ricketts, said, "We are delighted to have a small yet varied selection of Hy's work on show, both in colour and in black and white. The exhibition clearly demonstrates the scale of Hy's incredible ability to capture the moment with the celebrities she photographs.

About Hy Money

Aged nineteen she arrived at Tilbury Docks from Bombay, with fifteen pounds in her pocket and a Box Brownie camera given to her by her mother, with a request to send her a picture of Buckingham Palace, once she had settled in her new life. Today, Hy is acknowledged as the first woman sports photographer in Fleet Street. Her photos were regularly seen in books, in magazines and on the sports pages.
