Unkle Pigors and Doktor Dienzo present: "Creeping Beauty"

Burbank, California, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) August 28, 2010 -- As a celebrated animator for Disney and the driving force behind Toxic Toons, Eric Pigors has been delighting fans with eerily macabre creations for years. Having designed posters and merchandise for bands such as Metallica, The Murderdolls, The Ghastly Ones, and countless others, he has also amassed a bevy of products based on his art including books, prints, apparel, toys and much more.

Drawing on over 20 years experience as an award winning designer and fine artist, Rick "Dienzo" Blanco uses his brush and canvas to create images that play upon the darkness within us all, but in an endearing and approachable way. His unique take on what is often referred to as "Big Eye Art," has led him to extend his work into publishing and apparel with additional categories and projects in the works.

Having admired each other's art for several years, the two decided to collaborate on this exciting exhibition that played upon their individual strengths as artists and their shared love of things that go bump in the night. Using Pigors's pen and ink drawings as the driving force, each created their own color versions of those images. Pigors executes his post-color work digitally and Dienzo renders his versions traditionally using acrylic on canvas. "Eric designs such amazing characters that I was thrilled to be able to paint them in my style," says Dienzo. The theme of the show includes an array of vampire vixens, rock and roll zombies, hot-rodding monsters and other ghoulish delights.

The exhibition will take place at Hyaena Gallery in Burbank, CA which has become a focal point for lowbrow and outsider art in Los Angeles. In fact, the two artists came to meet each other through the gallery so it seemed the perfect place to breathe life into this monster mash up of styles.

The artists invite you to join them for an opening reception on Saturday, September 18th, 2010 from 8pm to 12am.
