US State Department Calls On Cyprus Leaders To Make Progress At Greentree
The State Department calls on the two leaders in Cyprus, President of the Republic Demetris Christofias and Turkish Cypriot leader Dervis Eroglu to seize the opportunity and make progress.

In a statement to the press, the Spokesperson of the State Department Victoria Nuland, underlines that Washington welcomes the talks that UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon will undertake with Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot leaders in New York, January 23-24.
Nuland also noted that the United States strongly supports the negotiations under the auspices of the United Nations Secretary General’s Good Offices Mission.
“We urge the leaders to seize this important opportunity to make real and substantial progress toward a settlement reunifying the island as a bi-zonal, bi-communal federation”, she added.CNA
