According to Julie, this year’s fair theme is “Reconnect” and is about ‘ renewed community spirit and reconnection to the values that make Utah County the best place in the nation to live.’ The fair opens Wed. Aug 17th at 4pm with an Opening Ceremony and Military Tribute at 6:30. Sonny Olsen of the Power & Sunshine talk hosting team will be master of ceremonies with Julie just prior to the Artie Hemphill and the Iron Horse Band concert – admission is free. This year’s fair features the first-ever-all Bull Riding event featuring Elite Championship Bull Riders on Thursday August 18th at 7 pm (tickets available at all Utah County Maceys stores) followed by a free dirt dance featuring the Eric Dodge Band. Cowboys compete in Friday’s Ranch Rodeo followed by a free concert/dance with the Mark Owens Band. Saturday is the bluegrass festival featuring the best fiddlers in the state, free to all fair patrons and will be on the Center Stage. “At the end of every summer we celebrate with the Utah County Fair. With the addition of our all Bull Riding event, this year will be like no other.
