Goth Related Story for 2012
Vampirefreaks databases include thousands of bands, products, events and other Goth related information that we will be including in the Award algorithm for the purposes of providing a true reflection of what the Goth community recognizes as representing them and going above and beyond in 2012 and beyond. To learn more about the process, what is being considered and how we evaluate the comments from our Members, we would be happy to discuss them with you and provide you with the basis of our assessments.
We also look forward to your nominations and feedback as we bring the best of the Goth community to our Members as well as to the general population. There is a great deal of cross-over and borrowing from the Goth community in each of these categories and in light of the horrific events that have occurred this year, with blame and reaction pointing erroneously at the Goth Sub-culture, we hope to bring a great deal more understanding, acceptance and participation into the world of Goth while maintaining the integrity of our community.

Vampirefreaks.com was founded over 13 years ago by software engineer, computer programmer, DJ and illustrator Jet Berelson. The initial effort was simply to create a safe place for Goth's of all kinds to interact with each other without judgment or prejudice from œnormals. By adding profiles of over 3,500 musicians and bands that serve the Goth nation, fans, users and supporters of the site grew it to over 1.7 million people and helped it establish a site offering a wide array of dark Gothic music profiles and selections, clothing, gifts, toys and accessories to satisfy the fashion, make-up and culturally oriented needs of the community. VF is revamping it's user experience and adding state of the art mobile applications to help it's fans reach each other about the things that matter most to them.
