webtrees version 1.2.4 released

The webtrees development team is pleased to announce our newest webtrees release, version 1.2.4. An open source multi-lingual genealogy software program, webtrees can be found at http://www.webtrees.net . Following in the footsteps of previous 1.2 series releases, this newest version (1.2.4) includes redesigned lists with advanced filtering, improved privacy options, increased use of CSS for standardization and customizing, and significantly overall responsiveness from restructuring code and eliminating redundant calls to the database. Too, webtrees now has a total of 45 supported languages (27 core plus 18 additional). With nearly 200 bug fixes (75 reported and more than 120 unreported ones) since the last minor release (August 4, 2011) and over 1,000 code changes, webtrees is under very active development.

Working from standard GEDCOM (family tree) files, webtrees uses readily available web-based resources - an http server, PHP and MySQL, running on any platform - to present your family tree via an online collaborative genealogy application.
