Uses

The oil shale bitumens that are produced by the company are used for making asphalt mixes for paving roads and in the process of surfacing roads as well.

When extracting the oil shale from retort liquor, total phenols are produced. The main components of these total phenols are highly reactive alkyl derivatives of resorcinol. These can be used for adhesive resins, tanning agents, and for compositions used for repairing gas and oil wells.
