Vocalist Ashante Chanice Embarks on Solo Vocal Career - New Album "Breathing Room" in 2010!

(Free-Press-Release.com) November 24, 2009 -- SAN FRANCISCO, CA - Vocalist/Producer Ashante Chanice embarks upon a solo music career after a successful 4 year stint with San Francisco Bay Area Rock / Americana band, Wee the Band. Co-writing and performing hits such as "Absolution", "Rise" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1DHYR4kvars) and "Technicolor" with Wee the Band, Ashante proved to be a dynamic and soulful addition to this vocal-based, pop band. Wee the Band continues to tour the San Francisco Bay area.

"Though Wee the Band owns the copyrights to all the songs I wrote with them, I still consider them to be my little babies. I'm glad they are safe in the hands of such talented musicians", states Ashante.

Ashante's upcoming, self-produced solo album 'Breathing Room' will be distributed by her independent label, Symbiant Sound Records as the first release for this upstart label. It is slated for a February 2010 release in stores and on iTunes, Rhapsody and online outlets. Ashante plans to actively pursue other acts to sign to her label in 2011.

"'Breathing Room' is an album that will express my experience in finding my own voice and using it in my own way. I get to go back to my t r&b, hip hop and and soul roots. I also get to encorporate some of my rock influence through collaborations with San Francisco based musicians."

Ashante Chanice notes that the reason for her departure from the successful band is due to very positive creative differences. "Though the sound was lovely, it was not in line with what I wanted to create personally. I would prefer to let them create the sound they truly adore, and I am free to do the same for myself", Ashante explains.

"I wouldn't change the experience one bit. I enjoyed working with a team of intelligent, creative songwriters with their own sense of style. Singing with Wee the Band was a definite educational experience. I am grateful for all of the knowledge I acquired regarding the music business, songwriting and arrangement. Vocal harmonies were the main reason I enjoyed working with the band. I enjoy being a great vocalist and appreciate the opportunity to showcase my skills for an accepting crowd. It was a hoot." says Ashante.

When asked about her future music plans, Ashante stated, "I am glad to have the opportunity to grow and improve myself vocally, with my own projects."

Ashante Chanice plans to begin a small to mid-size promotional tour of the San Francisco Bay Area in April 2010. She is building her fan base through performances at smaller venues and open mics throughout Oakland, San Francisco and Berkeley, CA.
