Two instrumented SID-IIs dummies are present in the car, and their injuries are assessed including assessment of head protection, and also the vehicle’s structural performance during the impact.

Rear crash protection is based on a stimulated collision where a stationary vehicle is stuck from the rear by a vehicle moving at 20 mph. Seat/head restraints with good or acceptable geometry are tested dynamically using a dummy that measures forces on the neck.
