Walgreens and South Dallas AIDS Walk Scannable Campaign

Dallas, TX. January 1, 2012 – Walgreens is a proud partner of the 2nd Annual South Dallas AIDS Walk (SDAW)! Throughout the month of January, help the South Dallas AIDS Walk reach their $100K goal by buying a $1 scannable at twelve local Walgreens in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The 2nd Annual South Dallas AIDS Walk’s mission is to inspire, rally, and galvanize the community of South Dallas to continue to curb the spread of HIV/AIDS and aid those in need. “This partnership with Walgreens is a ground-breaking movement in the South Dallas community”, said Auntjuan Wiley, the SDAW Event Chair. “As the leading retail pharmacy, we are excited that they have joined forces to fight AIDS and promote awareness”.

The South Dallas AIDS Walk, held on March 24, 2012, is the annual fundraising initiative of the Anthony Chisom AIDS Foundation (ACAF), a 501(c) (3) organization established in Dallas with the mission of bringing SUPPORT, HEALTH, & MEDICINE to local HIV/AIDS agencies with clientele located in the Southern sector of Dallas. The SDAW offers a variety of groups, nonprofits and businesses; like Walgreens, an amazing opportunity to make a difference and reach individuals that live and work in the Dallas area and abroad that are either infected or impacted by HIV/AIDS. In the inaugural year (March 2011), the SDAW raised $11,000 benefiting local HIV/AIDS outreach programs. “We met our goal in 2011 and hope to surpass it this year with $100K. The HIV/AIDS community needs our support”, said Anthony Chisom, ACAF Founder/CEO and philanthropist.
