Wee the Band Scores 2nd Show and Gorillas Takeover at DNA Lounge, SF 11/27/2009

In July 2009, Wee the Band participated in the Battle of the Bands at DNA Lounge in San Francisco, sponsored by Gorilla Music Productions, Pabst Blue Riboon and Sam Ash. Wee the Band brought intelligent lyrics, intricate 4 part harmonies, interesting guitar lines, wicked basslines and a rhythm section that revved up the DNA Lounge crowd and the San Francisco independent music scene. Their accessible pop style appealed intelligent adults and party animals alike.

Wee the Band gained the favor of Gorrilla Music and DNA Lounge's booking staff after a rousing and energetic debut performance. Though they did not win the Battle of the Band's competition, they were invited back for a second show due to their refreshing, mature, well-crafted stage performance, great sound and upbeat vibes. Audiences poured in during their previous performance at DNA Lounge, and raved about the performance - some being surprised by the richness and depth of the sound, as well as the polished stage performance, often not found in many independent rock and pop bands.

Wee the Band has been described as a refreshing change of pace from the overdriven guitars and wailing vocals of the average rock band. Wee the Band wowed listeners with great vocals, stellar guitar and harmonica solos, and a fresh rhythm section. Their live show is a crowd-pleaser, featuring multi-instrumentalists with a knack for creating great sound.

Wee the Band's sound is influenced by jazz, blues, pop, rock, americana and a touch of funk. Smooth, uplifting harmonic vocals and intelligent, humorous and mildly subversive lyrics are the jewel of this band. Their songs are original, their vibe is laid back, but very fun loving. Wee the Band's sound is similar to an acoustic guitar laden Steely Dan, Manhattan Transfer with a rhythm section, The B52's after swapping the synths for the harmonica and shaker, with Ella Fitzgerald and the Grateful Dead on a sunshine day. it's highly likely that such a wicked jam session would sound exactly like Wee the Band's live show!
