The MAX Awards are developed by Georgia State University’s Robinson College of Business Department of Marketing and the Atlanta Business Chronicle and recognize outstanding marketing innovations introduced in Georgia in the previous year.

Welcomemat’s technology platform, designed to help their new franchisees run and manage their businesses, is the innovation that is being submitted for the awards. The marketing solution is a loyalty-based program that starts with a mailed package delivered to a new family who has indicated a change of address. In the mail package are a number of certificates from sponsoring local businesses that invite the new family to visit each business.

Welcomemat employs patented technology that imprints each certificate with a unique barcode. The barcode is tied back to the new resident user so that when businesses send back the redeemed certificates to the Welcomemat data processing team, analytics and follow up data can be provided to the local business owners about those visiting. Analytic elements include demographic, sociographic and geographic data. End users of the product include the likes of the High Museum, World of Coca-Cola, Doc Chey’s, Manuel’s Tavern, Cactus car wash as well as local dentists, doctors and salon.
