FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Atlanta, Georgia, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) December 10, 2011 -- Dunwoody Wellness Center exceeded expectations when its 5K team raised the most money for the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University.

Along with hundreds of other participants on Saturday, October 15th, 2011, DWC staff and their families joined the 5K run/walk, which began at 6:30 a.m. at Emory University's McDonough Field wove through historic Druid Hills. Proceeds from the event went to support continued advances in cancer research and treatment at Winship Cancer Institute. Initially, DWC sought to recruit 50 members on its team and raise at least $5,000 toward this cause. After the race when all the members and money was tabulated, DWC had 120 team members who helped to raise $13,228, which was the largest amount generated for a team.

“This, of course, is just a drop in the bucket. That’s why it’s important to continue to support the fight for cancer so that one day you or someone you love can enjoy the piece of mind knowing there’s a cure for this terrible disease,” said Vlad Gorenshteyn, manager of Dunwoody Medical Center.

“Every dollar makes a difference,” said Walter J. Curran, Jr., MD, executive director of the Winship Cancer Institute. “We very much appreciate the trust our patients and their family members put into Winship, and community support makes a tremendous difference in our cutting-edge research against this disease.”

Winship Cancer Institute is still accepting donations, so DWC is asking that you donate at least $5 to make a difference in the fight against cancer. Contact Vlad at DWC for more information on how you can help in this effort. Meanwhile, DWC wants to highlight the support of its Winship 5K sponsors: Tevyeh Party Express Entertainment Group, Gurvich Family, Sean Giles, Olga Zullig, PJ Walker, Anthony Winston, Capell Family, and Ian-Keith Fides.

All services at Dunwoody Wellness Center are medically based, including skin care, massage and chiropractic care. In terms of specialized skin care treatment, DWC provides enzyme, biomedical and medical facial peels in addition to deep cleansing facials and microdermabrasion. Other services include eye and lip lifting treatments, collagen infusion masks, and detoxifying body wraps.

Dunwoody Wellness Center is located at 1370 Center Drive, Suite 104, Dunwoody, Georgia 30338. For more information, visit DWC at www.dunwoodywellness.com or call 404-590-3922.
