http://www.koeppeforWMPS.info Koeppe is running for school board in an effort to volunteer and invest his skills for the betterment of the township’s students and township as a whole. “As a father and member of the community, I have a vested interest and passion for ensuring our school system operates at its full potential”, he said. “As a product of the school system myself, I feel deeply indebted to the terrific teachers this town is known for and have a desire to contribute something back to the community”.
John and his wife Inga reside in Newfoundland and have a son attending Paradise Knoll School and their daughter will enter Kindergarten there in 2011.
Experience:
As a financial executive, Koeppe understands how to exercise fiscal prudence while driving organizational performance. His professional credentials include MBA and CPA, along with over 20 years of diverse, financial and operational roles. During this time, he has served in senior leadership roles for several large and mid-size organizations where he leveraged creative problem-solving and collaboration abilities to maximize results.
As a member of decision-making committees, he is familiar with the time commitment necessary to serve on the board, as well as the learning curve to really understand the complexities of the financial and achievement issues facing the district. “The more I learned, the more I felt like I could make a difference”, he said.
Vision
Koeppe would make student achievement and data-based decision making top priorities. “It’s important for the district to always remain cognizant that our graduates are competing on a national and international basis now”, Koeppe said.
“NJ state-level test scores in the West Milford district overall have lagged in comparison to performance in other key areas, such as athletics and artistic expression”, he said. “This is testimony to the fact that we have an extremely talented and competitive student body that is capable of better things academically with the right amount of inspiration”.
