When the Gardasil vaccine first came on the market in 2006, it was touted as a miracle vaccine, one that would prevent cervical cancer. But what wasn’t being shared with the public was the dark side of this so-called miracle. Lives were being forever altered, and some tragically, were ending.
In the few short years since Gardasil was introduced, there have been 23816 reported injuries and 103 deaths in connection with an HPV vaccine. There have also been reports of seizures, paralysis, brain encephalopathy, heart ailments, blindness, blood clots, severe fatigue, auto-immune issues, limb weakness, joint pain, tremors and a myriad of other “unexplained illnesses”. To make matters worse, if a doctor does admit a connection to this vaccine, they still don’t know how to treat this new “Gardasil Syndrome”. This is one reason, Truth About Gardasil was born.
The people who have had their lives altered had nowhere to turn. There was no support system, no one speaking up for them and no one asking questions of the medical community or the governmental agencies that approved these vaccines. Many were being told that their experience with Gardasil was a fluke and that no one else was experiencing these side effects. Truth About Gardasil hoped to change all that, and even adapted these ideas into their mission statement which states the organization is there 1) To give a voice to those who may have been injured by an HPV vaccine, and a place to feel supported and gather information. 2) Raising awareness about the possible side effects of these vaccines to not only the general public, but also those in the healthcare field, as well as those involved in the writing and enacting of legislation. 3) To continue working toward a cure for all those injured. 4) Stress education and prevention of HPV, and cervical cancer etc in place of the vaccine.
To date there have been over 150 countries that have visited the site, which shows that the problem with these HPV vaccines is a global issue. Some of its members were also recently invited to participate and share their story at the Republican Debate held in Las Vegas, Nevada. TAG also arranged a gathering of Gardasil injured families in Indiana this past August. President and Founder of TAG has been invited for the last two years in a row to attend an International Conference on Vaccines, and was also present at a meeting held with the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) to discuss the dangers of these vaccines. TAG was also heavily involved in the fund raising for the documentary. “One More Girl”, due for a Summer 2012 release. This film will chronicle the experiences of several of the injured and their heartbreaking stories. And while, TAG has occasionally collaborated with other organizations, TAG is an independent entity that will only work with others that share their vision and values.
TAG’s board members consist of a research team, several parents of the Gardasil injured, as well as some young women whose health has been affected by the vaccine. It is because of this that we take this position very seriously and promise to always do our best to only present evidence based on facts and to always take into account those that we represent, and while we may raise some tough questions, we will never present speculation as scientific evidence. We strive to give these people a safe place to vent or seek answers, and a way to become involved politically or with the research for a cure, if that is their wish. TAG also offers a Guardian Angel page listed by state and country so that if you have a question, or just need some one on one attention, you can contact someone relatively close to you.
As you can see, TAG is a multifaceted organization, one with a huge job. However, it is because of the values and collective vision of its members, that to date, so many people have found a place for support and answers. TAG is honored to be able to assist so many.
