WHEATLE PEART YOUTH ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BUSINESS SEMINAR IN MANDEVILLE, JAMAICA

Wheatle Peart is a social consulting business that helps businesses become socially responsible through helping them implement economic development projects globally. The youth program is for youth that are between 14 and 21 years old. The seminar will be sponsored by Renegade CEOs, which was founded by Shonika Proctor (www.renegadeceos.com). Renegade CEOs is a youth program that has helped young people as young as 13 years old to create their own business. Wheatle Peart has also co branded a business book written and published by Shonika Proctor, Teen Entrepreneur Success Secrets, which will be used during the program.

The program will be hosted at Mandeville New Testament Church of God, 18 Knowles Road, Mandeville, Jamaica. The time will be 9:00am-1:00pm. At 1:00pm family and friends are well to come back to see the youth graduate and receive their certificates. Youth can walk in on the same day as well and enter the program. Wheatle Peart Youth Business Seminar Initiative: Wheatle Peart educates youth about entrepreneurship through the exploration of other cultures and economies. The structure of the seminars teaches Entrepreneurial Skills, Cultural and Diversity Awareness, Communication Skills, Community Awareness, Technical Skills, Government Regulations, and Global Business Awareness. Youth will work in teams and create business plans and learn about how business can help revitalize the Jamaican economy.

WHEATLE PEART INTERNATIONAL IMPACT

In 2008, Wheatle Peart conducted the same seminar in Jamaica. During the program, youth created business plans that focused on enhancing Jamaica’s current economic standing. At the end of the program youth presented their business plans along with taking an exam that tested their knowledge on key concepts such as SWOT analysis, target market, and the various part of creating a business plan. This advance learning opportunity allowed youth to examine the global market and Jamaica’s place in the growing global economy. Mandeville New Testament Church’s youth Pastor Garfield Anderson received special acknowledgment for his dedication to the youth in Mandeville, Jamaica. Youth that participated came from school in Jamaica such as Knox College High, Bellefield High School, and several other high schools in the area. The program had a special segment for adults as well. Youth in the program received various incentives along with an entrepreneurship certificate and other business development enhancements.
