After five weeks of campaigning for public votes, creating community give-back programs and attracting media, the three finalists in Clay Hill Farm’s annual wedding challenge gathered with contest sponsors at Clay Hill Farm to await the results. In year three of the contest, all three finalists were awarded a green wedding package at Clay Hill Farm, to celebrate real people making a difference.

The Grand Prize all-inclusive summer wedding was awarded to Amy Watson, a Wiscasset native, and Brazilian born Douglas Figueiredo, whose ‘how-to’ green living campaign inspired the judges and voters from around the world. “The Green Wedding Giveaway has been the most amazing experience for us as a couple,” said Watson. “To be the Grand Prize winners is a huge honor, as we have so much respect for our fellow finalists - they are not just great couples, but also great people who we've enjoyed getting to know through this journey as well.”

Runner-up Winners Luke Fuller and Cassi Madison of Portland, ME selected June 26th as their wedding date, and Jeffrey Court and Samantha Smith of Worcester, MA chose to be married on August 28th. Three summer weddings will be planned at Clay Hill Farm to celebrate the unique green shades of these three couples making a difference in the world with their commitment to each other, their communities and the environment. Votes poured in this year from a record-breaking 63 countries, spreading Clay Hill Farm’s positive message of green connectedness across the globe. We are all green in some way, so pick your shade and shout it to the world! TM
The three couples will remain in touch with the public through their blog posts at www.greenweddinggiveaway.com to share their wedding journeys.

"We are honored to be a part of the life journeys of all three winners," said Jennifer Lewis-McShera, founder of Clay Hill Farm's Green Wedding Giveaway. "With the help of our generous sponsors this year, we could honestly say, 'When you celebrate the Earth, everybody wins'."
