Many obstacles have shaped Winston Warrior’s story, from losing his grips on a major record label contract to losing his confidence in the music industry and himself. However, yesterday’s hurdles prepared Winston for today’s triumphs. Presently, Winston Warrior celebrates a Billboard charting song for his popular single “Bad 4 U”; four nominations for Soul Tracks 2011 Reader’s Choice Awards; a feature performance at V-103’s 20th Anniversary For Sister’s Only Expo; multiple entries on the 2011 Grammy Awards ballot; “Bad 4 U” radio play in more than 20 cities as well as video rotation on VH1 Soul, Centric and Music Choice.
About Winston
Atlanta born and truly Southern raised, Winston Warrior coins his music as “Vintage R&B” paying tribute to the feel-good R&B and soul music of the late ‘80s and ‘90s, but with the edginess of today’s production creativity. In the 90’s, Winston painfully lost his virginity to the music industry as an original member of the break-out R&B group, Lo’ Profile. With two hit singles, “Missing You” and “Play Melody” on radio rotation, they were frequently booked as opening acts for major artists such as Mary J. Blige and Dru Hill. Success, however, never comes easily and soon the group split up as the harsh realities of the world were too great for their dream to survive. While the collaborative dream did not make it to fruition, the ever present longing for Winston to fulfill his artistic goals never dissipated, and with a business degree from the University of Miami, success in his corporate endeavors soon followed. Fortunately, Winston’s support system was instrumental in encouraging him to reconnect with his music and his rebirth has now brought him full circle as he is once again an emerging artist. This time, however, he is wiser and in complete control of his artistic vision. Warrior's debut album, Lifeology 101was released to critical acclaim with his hit single, "Bad 4 U" currently on regular radio rotation across the nation. Lifeology 101 features platinum producers Don Vito, Sean McMillion, Selasi “The African Kid”, Lenny Hamilton Jr, and Trey "DJ Gman" Thomas.
