FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Bacliff, Texas, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) January 9, 2012 -- winter coats for women riviews:

This was the second coat I ordered, first was too small (I also reviewed it). That one was a medium which should have fit her, this is large, just came in today and it just barely was the right size. Everything else about the coat is fine...but this company needs to make these for American women and not Asian (no offense intended).

i absolutely love this coat. i'm a californian girl who recently moved to germany. i get cold very very easily. i'm a size 6, measurements: 34 bust 26 waist and 36 hip, i'm 5'5 and ordered a medium. this coat fit perfectly. it's big enough to fit a hoodie under, not that you'd need one. the length was perfect, hit about mid calf and i love the buttons below the zipper in the front. i've had very minor problems with the zipper in the front and on the pockets. i had trouble pulling it up in the front and the side pcket zipper caught once on the inside fabric. it took patience to get it right and not damage the fabric. like i always say, love your clothes and they'll love you back. patience is the key. once i figured out the zippers little tricks it was smooth sailing and i haven't had any other problems since. i have gone out in the snow and have been exceptionally warm. on windy days it keeps me warmer than any other i coat i own. i wanted a coat that was flattering but warm and was very happy that it was both. i ordered it in black and loved the color and fox fur around the hood. super soft! and was very happy that the hood was detachable. i will be very disappointed when i move back to california and will not be able to use it as often. well worth the money!

I did a lot of looking for a long down coat that would help keep my legs warm while walking into work. This coat is perfect. I am 5'4" and it hits a little below my knees. Most other coats were either longer or shorter. It has zippered side vents so I can walk more easily or zip them up to stay warmer. At first I had some trouble with the zipper, it was hard to get the zipper started, but apparently it just needed to be broken in because after a few days that problem has gone away. When the coat arrived, it was in a plastic coat bag and had a very funny smell which I believe is due to the down. I hung it up to air overnight and it was much better by morning and by the second day I couldn't even smell it. I do feel the coat size runs small, I was afraid the XL would be too big but it fits me perfect. I usually have an issue with coat sleeves being too long but these are about right for me, so it might not fit a tall person very well. It has enough room to wear a heavy sweater and/or a down vest underneath without being baggy. I am very happy with this coat and would recommend it to others.
The fabric does remind me of a garbage bag in a sense (I purchased the brown) I'm sure this effect would be more had I chosen the black. The material is slick so that animal hair doesn't stick to it which is nice! It is not what I would call a matte finish.

The sleeves seem a bit thin on the insulation. I live in Michigan and with it being around 20 degrees out I can feel it on my arms through the coat. The customer who claims to be wearing this same parka in Alaska with "temperatures well below zero" must be wearing it inside! On the flip side I don't need to take it off when shopping - I don't get overheated and uncomfortable since the down breathes. I don't recall if the description mentioned it or not but there is a inside zipper pocket in the left breast area which I thought was a plus.

As for the length I'm five foot three and it comes about 3 inches above my knees, a great length for just about everything. I'm curvy and normally wear a 12/14 so I purchased the XL which fits perfect. Even though this is a down parka it really is form fitting and quite flattering! Not a jacket for layering. My only complaints or suggestions would be that the snaps aren't very strong, there should be a bit more down in the arms, and at the cuff there should be fabric around your wrist not just the snap closure, which can be adjusted.
